Weekly service update: OAPEN Library Dashboard
Following recent communications, we are continuing maintenance and enhancement work on the OAPEN Library Dashboard over the summer. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding. Please check back regularly for the latest updates.
The OAPEN Team
Status as of 9 September 2026
We are approaching the final stage of moving several OAPEN and DOAB services from our current third-party hosting and managing solution to a self-managed environment hosted with our partner, CERN.
This includes the the OAPEN Library usage statistics dashboard, as well as the OAPEN and DOAB websites, our flexible export module for metadata exports, MEMO (Metadata Export Module for Open Access Books), the PRISM widget API, and the OA Books Toolkit.
Impact
The OAPEN Library and DOAB repositories will not be affected by this transition, and there is no current impact to our other services mentioned above.
During the transition, users may experience temporary interruptions to the OAPEN Library Dashboard, the OAPEN and DOAB websites, metadata exports, PRISM widget API, and OA Books Toolkit. We will announce the transition period in advance.
Work underway
We are currently deploying and testing the services one by one. By the end of September, we aim to have the current production environment fully recreated and tested.
October is planned as the transition month, when we will start switching services from our existing third-party hosting solution to a self-managed environment, hosted in CERN’s Data Center.
Alongside the OAPEN Library Dashboard migration, we are also working to restore the missing usage data and introduce our own, independent usage tracking.
